First international scientific conference on “Medicinal, aromatic and edible plants and by-products in their processing (MAEP & WASTE): Use and utilization for a sustainable and circular economy”

The first international scientific conference on “Medicinal, aromatic and edible plants and by-products in their processing (MAEP & WASTE): Use and utilization for a sustainable and circular economy” was held on 09.09.2021 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

The main topics covered were the numerous opportunities for the application of biologically active substances from essential oil crops, such as damask rose, lavender, mint, nut seeds, cereals and their waste in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries.

Almost 70 scientists from nine countries took part in the scientific forum. The plenary speakers were Prof. Kemal Basher (Northern Cyprus), Prof. Liudmil Antonov (Bulgaria), Prof. Angela Fraser (USA) and Prof. Fabian Weber (Germany). 20 short presentations and 20 posters were presented.
